Movement Workshop: Yin and Yang

When is the last time you felt a state of beautiful balance? meaning strength touched by grace, peace grounded by aliveness, real entwined with the ethereal. This is a state I enjoy immensely and aim to experience as often as possible while life does its dance. With the month of October welcoming our fall season, let’s dive into the play of yin and yang to discover this place as if for the first time.

In this workshop you will expand your ability to experience the gifts of both yin and yang through Nia movement. As you enter one, you naturally strengthen the other. Notice where you feel most at home and notice what wants to be explored.

Move in the power and pleasure of yin and yang and feel enlivened. Choose movements that allow clear entry into each. Learn to sense and express both. We will warm up and get moving with exercises followed by bringing our learning into a full Nia routine.

New and experienced students are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing for working out and moving, and bring water to keep hydrated. The workshop will be done barefoot, however soft-soled shoes are fine if needed. Please register in advance.

Jasjit Rai is a Nia Black Belt Teacher with over 12 years experience, having been trained by the Nia founders in the USA. She has taught hundreds of students through weekly classes, workshops in Vancouver and abroad, and demos and special events. She brings spirit, warmth, play, growth and learning into all she offers, creating a safe space to explore and express your unique self.
