While rummaging through some old photos, this one took me back in time. On a hike with a colleague in spring, we made it up to the snow. Years ago it was, a different lifetime in many ways.
It was the days before I stopped wearing a watch, entrepreneurship called, artistic expression sprouted, movement and dance beckoned, deep coaching pulled , fashion studies in Paris invited, writing happened daily, constant exploration and creation of self and others became the commitment…before all these came to be my world.
It was the days after travel through to many countries, working overseas, loving my jobs but outgrowing them too fast to be able to stay, being fascinated by culture, language and the international world.
This photo was taken about a year or so before I made the decision (or it made me) to just drop what felt far too predictable – and didn’t seem to fully work – in total faith and carve a new personalized path from scratch, a total break into the unknown at a new level.
Would I make the same choices? Many, yes, because the old path wouldn’t have let me express even half of who I was.
That’s been the constant impulse.
When you realize you’re made of “more”, how can you not choose it?
And I’ve swam and sunk more than once, lol, but never knowing what would’ve happened by staying in only what I knew would’ve been the a bigger tragedy. That I couldn’t accept.
