Connection and Definition in Business

This week I’ve been meeting with people I know, some very recent and other less new. The purpose was to discuss our interests and work and see if there are opportunities for collaboration. It’s been inspiring. There’s  nothing like meeting with others who have overlapping interests and are willing to connect. Many dreams have taken off from a simple conversation over a cup of coffee and the infamous paper napkin filled with scribbles of inspiration.

My meeting with Leonard Imagery led to discussions of combining our complementary skills in styling and photography. Conversations about spirituality and beauty/interior design came about with Phenix and Associates. And the importance of good tailoring and fit arose in the meeting with Samson Wardrobes. Each of these people and their businesses are passionate about delivering a quality product or service. The discussions reminded me how many different avenues there are to offering my own services. The creation of  a niche is always an important question to consider. And in my experience, it’s not easy to answer it without taking some look at what else there is out there and who is there and who wants to connect.

This led me to consider my ideal clients.  Who are they?  They are interested in health, wellness, the impression they make through their wardrobe, professional and personal growth.  They are the ones who want to grow and evolve. They desire to live a full life. They are willing to have fun. They dream and create. They are willing to go through the challenge of change. They want to express themselves. They realize that confidence comes from within and needs to be expressed. They are willing to acknowledge that their life is important and do something about it. They recognize the value of a good investment. They are committed and open. They value positive connections and relationships. They appreciate quality and detail. They are willing to step up into the world. And they want to do it in a fun and deep way mixing play and soul.
