Movement + Meditation + Magic Workshop

Movement Playshop

We all need a space to go where we can temporarily shed our roles and habits to rediscover ourselves from deeper within.

When we do that through the body, we animate our essence. We find the flames of true joy through the joyous act of movement via attention. We enter into conscious relationship with the divine intelligence that moves us. We sense the primal and sacred energy that has the power of creation woven in its design. We access the magic of play.

Let go of everything but the present moment as you’re guided to awaken to wonderment and dance your expression in this autumn workshop.

Sat, Oct 29, 2:15 – 5:15 pm

@The Dance Centre

You will be guided to seamlessly blend the movement arts including Nia and meditation amidst connection to a community of like-minded souls. Quench your soul’s thirst. This is a special program, an experience beyond the format of a weekly class with teachings and exercises you can take home with you. For ongoing Nia students, you’ll find your practice deepened and expanded.

Here are experiences from students when I led a workshop in NYC:

“I loved dancing with you Jasjit. You have a beautiful energy which brought me very deeply into myself, both physically and emotionally.  It was an inspirational workshop and I will use the tools and elements I have culled from this in my personal and professional life.  Thank you!”  Elyce N.

“The workshop took me to heart of my dance, my life dance very quickly. Took some embers and created a bonfire! Thank you so much.”  Rebecca N.

Jasjit is a certified Nia Black Belt Teacher. She brings a quality of movement that has people reconnect with their spirit, reclaim their joy, and dive into the power of presence. These elements empower people to take such experiences to nourish their lives and their work in the world. Countless students have sent emails and testimonials over the years on the profound impact of her classes and workshops held in dance studios, at special events, in university settings, and in boardrooms and retreats. The connection to the body, especially for those who are often in their heads, is a like an infusion of new life energy. Her Nia teaching has been shown on a number of news and lifestyle tv programs and mentioned in magazines including enRoute.

Here’s a short video of images and phrases that capture the spirit of Nia for those new to it:  http://youtu.be/Kq71Xn429hg

In this playshop, I’ll bring in principles and techniques from other practices for meditation, teaching, and connection.
