Are you aware of the vast reservoir of power within you? Most people aren’t. They’re too busy running around trying to figure things out. So, of course, slowing down is a big part of making that inner connection. It takes more than stillness though. It takes an understanding that you are “everything”.
Imagine for a few moments, breathe, and sense within you a holy being that knows everything it needs to know. Be with this presence a while before you go further. Drop the attention from the mundane world around you. Simply imagine, like a child feeling for their superpowers.
Now imagine doing that every day, returning to something bigger than the practical you who thinks it has to control everything, run everything, not drop the ball, and cater to the world. The practical you is the smallest part of you and when you identify with it alone, life becomes small, tense, packed in.
Can we live, knowing that everything we are doing is flowing through us? Does that help you relax and let go? It’s visible when people tense their bodies. It looks like they think that their body will fall apart if they don’t hold it in place! It’s actually the opposite.
When we step out of our small minds, we can access a greater power. We begin to move through life with grace, with trust, with relaxed breaths instead of being wound up and on “go” all the time.
It takes a shift in perception and persistence to live in this way where we finally relinquish control and choose to flow through what is being freely given.
