I must not underestimate the healing quality of beauty. My soul finds peace, happiness, truth there. Beauty inspires and creates lofty dreams on which my spirit sails. It softens my eyes and my heart. I cannot help but sigh as my gaze rests on a reflection of beauty. My body must respond. And that sigh lets go of all that usually stands in my way, and re-sets me on my true path. Beauty says “yes, keep going, there’s more to be found here”. The recognition of beauty is automatic alignment of mind, body, spirit.
Surroundings can be filled with beauty through the smallest acts once we offer our attention. Recently I’ve worn a sweet little flower clip in my hair and it is a joy to see the delight it gives to strangers and friends alike. And their smiles and compliments give back to me in return. It’s so easy to share happiness.
It only takes a moment to travel into the presence of beauty. Its recognition is the breath our souls need. In times of difficulty, beauty brings a gentleness, a lightness, and even a heartfelt embrace.
On a daily basis, in your home, in your workspace, in your clothing, in your meals, in your conversations, and in your prayers, you can add beauty. And with it, your heart will soar and open wide to the incredible gift beauty is.
May you recognize and rest your eyes on beauty today.
so true! i walk the seawall regularly to “get away” – a mini-mental vacay that works wonders. flowers are great too 🙂 we take the beauty around us for granted until we find ourselves in an environment without it. thanks for sharing!
Thanks for commenting Grace – in a city like Vancouver, it’s easy to find beauty in the nature that surrounds. Something I love about the seawall is also the art that gets added every now and then.
