Resurrection

With Easter weekend coming up, I got to thinking about resurrection. It’s a powerful vision. It is an energy that uplifts and strengthens by bringing back to life.

How could I bring this notion into my life and work?  What could I resurrect in my life that would make it more true for me?  What about you? We have a few days yet…let’s all consider it and see what comes up.  And do we need to let something ‘die’ first in order for resurrection to occur? What might that be?  As always, it could be small or large.  What you want to resurrect may be a quality, a goal, an intention, a hope, a desire, an attitude, an action or a belief. It may be for the weekend or for longer. And rather than think and analyze it, could we meditate and let the answer arise? It would be great if you shared your experience or thoughts to this post!

I’ve personally been putting my focus on what feels good, better, and what I want for several weeks. These are ongoing things, however the difference for me is that my intention is to do it as often as I possibly can and consciously. So I keep bringing my attention back over and over again. The trick is in sustaining this practice until it becomes natural. I notice that doing this practice is creating a feeling of being outside of time in a sense. It’s like there’s an awareness of mechanical time (the one by the clock) but simultaneously, I have more space by being conscious of my desires, my being, my feelings, and the invisible side of life.  Through this process, I am looking to resurrect a stronger sense of my self where my dreams are totally present in my whole self not just fantasies that slip by like clouds. It’s an experiment.

In some religions, resurrection leads to immortality, an eternal union of body and soul. Or perhaps one’s true essence pervading ego.

Interestingly, I’ve been loving a new Nia CD called “Alive” for a couple of weeks. And then found myself listening to a beautiful and dreamy song called “So Alive” by the Orchid Highway. And then yesterday found myself hearing “Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi.  And now, here’s this writing about resurrection.  Something’s up!

Wonderful, thank you! Would be great to have a collection of happy “Alive” songs. Resurrection and reincarnation…hmmmm. Is the second more about a new life altogether? I chose resurrection feeling it was about being ‘larger’ and more fully Alive in this life.

Yes, I’m thinking I would like to start a new life from scratch as this one is a little screwed up. I’d like to reincarnate to someone like Oprah Winfrey by the time this weekend is over. Wish me luck 😉

Do remember that Oprah did not have the happiest and brightest growing up years! It is always the depth of one’s experiences (so-called good and bad) that makes us shine at our best. So maybe you will re-consider resurrecting the real you? 🙂 Have a great long weekend! Thanks for writing.
