This is my new journal, ready for a happy, wild and wonderful 2014. As we closed one year and entered the next, I had a thought. What if we were to choose where we want to be at the end of 2014 and make every decision based on that person?
Too often we start the first day with bright optimism, only to forget our desires and simply go day to day. And that is no fun at all!
This is not about goal setting, which to me is about as exciting as being lectured. You know, when you just want to roll your eyes or half-heartedly go through the hoops only pretending you actually care.
I am referring to an energetic shift based on your soul’s knowing and wisdom and power.
So what would that look like? Sink in to a comfortable position, breathe freely, get relaxed and think of something you like, enjoy, and even better – adore. I don’t care if it’s a Gucci outfit or your pet chihuahua. Let those good feelings course through your body. For me, the curve of a font can do the trick.
These good feelings are your ticket to expanding your mind so it can actually dream. This is critical. Nothing new can arise by thinking the old way and accepting old limiting assumptions.
So, dream. Really. It’s ok. You are allowed.
Now let those feelings of warmth, ease, happiness (insert your desired emotion) grow. Within this place of greater trust, what would get added to the picture of your life? You can ask this energy you sense, this 2014 being, what they’d do, what they’d choose, who they’d be with, and how they would live life. You can start with small things (how would they walk?) and get to bigger things (what would their business/work grow to become). See what arises.
When you feel complete, open your eyes and write it down. It doesn’t stop here though!
The trick is that you must act on this knowledge now to the best of your ability. If it’s a material thing, then begin shopping for it so you know exactly what it is and what it’ll be like to have it. If it’s emotional, which everything always is, find a visual that expresses that emotion and use it as a daily talisman. If it’s more time to do “x”, then mark it in your diary now. You don’t have to know how it’ll transpire, just that it will. You have planted the seed and began to water it.
By living your ‘end of 2014’ person now, you are already her/him. It starts from the inside…and…must begin living on the outside.
