Having a complete wardrobe can feel like a mirage in the distance for many people – a desired destination that constantly moves as the seasons change, fashion trends shift, and you evolve. It doesn’t need to be so ephemeral though. There are keys to developing a wardrobe that you can easily apply. I’ll be writing about these in my posts in the next few weeks, so come back and take a look!
Part 1: Are you Happy with your Basics?
Basics are pieces from which you can build your wardrobe, by creating a solid foundation. They often include classic items that don’t easily go out of style and are high quality. This is where money spent will be a true investment.
Monochrome is best for basics – solid colours that are most flattering to you along with the sturdy blacks/greys/whites/navys/and browns.
Accessories may include 1-2 leather belts, a casual and formal pair of shoes, and scarves/jewellry.
If your budget is small, these will go along way in helping you show up at different occasions without breaking the bank. And there are many inexpensive ways to freshen up the look through the year, which I will discuss soon…
Jasjit…What a great blog…easy to read and it really draws the reader into each article. I am going to study your wardrobe basics thoroughly! Thank you from those of us who are simply hopeless in this dept.
Hi Monika,
There is plenty of hope! Some people know science, others math, me – I know what makes people look great. Look forward to helping you out soon.
